PLANS which will help a West Somerset firm strengthen its business across Europe have been submitted to Somerset Council.
Brook Food Processing Equipment Ltd wants to build a steel portal frame storage building in one corner of its site on Williton’s Roughmoor industrial estate.
The firm, which has 34 employees, is Europe’s largest provider of new, refurbished, and used bakery equipment.
It was given permission in 2019 for a two-storey office and storage building which would have seen two more staff employed, but the project stalled during the Covid pandemic and was never carried out.
Planning agent James Goldring, of Inspired Partnership Ltd, said the company now wanted to put a slightly smaller two-storey general industrial and storage unit on the same site.
Mr Goldring said Broom Food had experienced managed growth since 2000 and its good name extended across Europe and the globe.
The council wants public comments on the application by November 27.
