HOLLYWOOD prosthetic make-up artist Sangeet Prabhaker has agreed to give monthly tuition to Somerset college students for the next year.
Sangeet, whose television and movie credits include Game of Thrones and Dune, will mentor aspiring make-up professionals at the Taunton campus of University Centre Somerset (UCS).
A spokesperson said the college was proud to strengthen its collaboration with Sangeet in ‘an exciting development’ for students.
The spokesperson said: “Sangeet will mentor and train make-up students at the Taunton campus on a once-per-month basis over the next year, offering them unparalleled insights into the craft and its application.
“This collaboration aligns perfectly with the launch of UCS’s revitalised make-up degree programme.
“As media make-up becomes make-up artistry, prosthetic FX, and wig making, it aligns more closely with the ever-evolving demands of the entertainment industry, positioning UCS students at the forefront of artistic innovation in FX make-up.”
Sangeet’s work also spans short films and television series including Prison Break and Willow, as well as major blockbuster productions including Doctor Strange and The Dark Knight Rises.
UCS is the higher education offer of Bridgwater and Taunton College and has campuses in Taunton, Bridgwater, and Cannington.
It delivers about 70 full and part-time courses and apprenticeships, including degrees, HNCs, HNDs, and professional certificates, with degree courses validated by prestigious universities including University of the West of England, Plymouth University, Oxford Brookes University, and The Open University.
