THE annual meeting of West Somerset Green Forum later this month will be followed by a talk by landscape restoration advisor Paul Rutter.

Mr Rutter will draw on extensive experience in conservation and land management to propose a re-visioning of the West Somerset landscape.

His vision would transform it from existing ‘bite-size’ chunks into a large-scale network of well-connected habitats.

Mr Rutter will present the concept of a ‘green blueprint’ showing how a fragmented landscape can be stitched together to restore a healthy ecosystem without threatening valuable food production and farming livelihoods.

The forum meeting will be held in the Friends Meeting House, in Bancks Street, Minehead, at 6.30 pm on Thursday, November 14, with Mr Rutter’s talk scheduled for 7.30 pm.

The talk is titled ‘Re-connecting the landscapes of Exmoor and the Quantocks: a Green Blueprint for West Somerset’.

Entry is free and the forum will welcome anybody to attend.
