THE third annual litter pick in Carhampton was another successful event despite fewer helpers than in previous years taking part.

It was organised by Carhampton Climate Group and the volunteers covered a large part of the village.

They collected ‘a fair amount of litter’ which was then sorted to allow as much as possible to go for recycling.

It was felt there was less litter than a few years ago, helped in part by community-spirited villagers who regularly picked up rubbish around the areas in which they lived.

The climate group thanked Peter Hoyland, of Plastic Free Exmoor, for the loan of a supply of litterpickers and bags, and grounds maintenance company idverde for arranging to pick up the boxes of metal and plastic for recycling.
