ASHBRITTLE maintained their 100 per cent record in the first division of the West Somerset Cricket League with a 103-run away victory against Over Stowey.

Batting first, Ashbrittle scored 194-7 in their 40 overs with Sam Shaikh top scoring with 56, while Luke Williams (28), Chris Hill (29) and Callum White (46) were also in good form.

Over Stowey never seriously threatened to win the game, and were 36-5 at one stage before recovering to 91 all out, with Callum White (4-29) and Oliver White (4-21) being Ashbrittle's main wicket-takers.

East Huntspill kept in touch with the leaders in second place with a seven-wicket success against Stoke St Mary, with both sides scoring more than 200 runs. Stoke scored 216-5 in their 40 overs with Ben Gray knocking 55 not out and opener George Johnson 47.

Opener Ben Anderson steered East Huntspill to victory with a score of 135.

Champions Kilve lost for the second time this season when they went down by 29 runs at Bridgetown who scored 237-8 in their 40 overs.

Morebath won for the first time this season when they beat Brompton Ralph by seven wickets. Brompton made 233-9 in their 40 overs.

Huish Champflower won an exciting match in the second division, beating visiting Crowcombe by one wicket. Crowcombe scored 153 all out with Leigh Milton-Fyfe snapping up 6-24. Huish squeezed home with Tobi Jenkins top scoring with 36. Watchet are second in the table after beating Lydeard St Lawrence by 143 runs. Watchet scored 207 all out and Lydeard were shot out for 64.

Stoodleigh won by 27 runs against Carhampton after scoring 236-4 in their allotted overs with Dan Elliott 95 not out and Alex Russell 74 not out.

Bishops Hull top Division Three after beationg Fitzhead by six wickets in a low scoring game. Fitzhead scored 67 all out with Neil Mullins (34) being the only batter to make double figures.

Sampford Arundel won by six wickets at Wiveliscombe after bowling out the home side for 122, despite a knock of 49 not out by Stuart Denyer. Will Crossley (34), Rob Chave (38) and Vince Milton (35 not out) were Sampford's main batters. Cutcombe won by five wickets at Minehead who were 98 all out.

The Ashbrittle club enjoyed another good Saturday with their 2nd XI beating Buckland St Mary by 35 runs. Ashbrittle made 235 for eight with Michael Hill (42) and Carl Westcott (44) being their top scorers. Buckland batted confidently but ran out of overs with Ian Every 35 not out.

East Huntspill crashed to 21 all out at Hemyock whose Yogarajah Pirapthan scored 18 not out.

Roadwater were nine-wicket winners against Stoke St Mary with opener Mark Bishop scoring an unbeaten 58 and Luke Gould 27 not out.
