CUTCOMBE made it two wins on the bounce in Division Three of the West Somerset Cricket League when they travelled to Taunton where they beat Bishops Hull , who started the day ahead of them in the table by nine runs in a close match.
After winning the toss and batting Cutcombe lost four wickets cheaply before Phil Webber walked out to join Mark Matravers. The two stalwart members of the team proceeded to steady the situation, Matravers making 68 and Webber 15, after which young Ben Pursey chipped in with 18 to help the visitors reach 133 before they were all out in 34 overs.
For the home side Mark Hallas, Paul Holman, Jacob Lang and Morgan Chanter all took two wickets each. When Bishops Hull replied evergreen bowler Phil Webber soon accounted for opener Callum Kershaw and then saw the back of his replacement Hallas.
Ross Northover made 31 before he was out to Matravers who also dismissed Jack Hiett for 12. Ben Pursey then claimed two wickets before Bishops Hull were all out for 124 in 35.5 overs giving Cutcombe victory by nine runs.
This result sees Cutcombe in third place, 12 points behind Bishops Hull but with a game in hand.
