MINEHEAD 3rd XI gained a seven-wicket away victory over Bishops Hull in Division Three of the West Somerset Cricket League.
After being asked to bat the home side were soon in trouble as Harry Tudball claimed two early wickets.
Athul Soman then made it three before Mark Hallas and Archie Billings rallied the cause before the fomer was accounted for by Jithin Rajan.
Billings was joined by Matt Chanter who between them added vital runs before Billings was caught by Ian Goodrum off Harry Swann’s bowling.
Chanter remained unbeaten on 36 as the hosts ended on 164 for seven from their 30 overs .
When Minehead replied they lost Vishnu Kombath cheaply before Henry Murrell with 33, which included seven fours, and Soman who hit 46 with eight fours, moved the visitors into a strong position.
Renjeesh Krishnan with an unbeaten 64, with seven fours and four sixes, and Jithin Rajan then stayed together to see Minehead onto 168 for three in 22 overs.
It means that with only one match remaining Minehead are lying third in the table, but some way behind the top two sides Stogumber and Sampford Arundel.
This coming Saturday Minehead are at home to Wiveliscombe Seconds who are sixth in the table.
