AFC Dunster faced an inform Butlins in Division One of the Somerset Sunday League - and came away with a 1-0 victory.

The odds were stacked firmly in the home side’s favour. The hosts were quick out of the blocks to apply early pressure on the visitors as they bombarded Dunster’s goal for most of the first half.

Dunster’s back line stood firm to deny a determined Butlins team. The Greens had a few sniffs at the Butlins goal with Scott Kivell hitting the target, being a notable chance, and Sam Harley also went close.Josh Elston’s penalty claims were also waved away by referee Simon Webber.

The second half saw The Greens step up and create more chances. Nothing to trouble the Butlins defence but a positive mentality eventually paid off. Scott Kivell had tirelessly worked hard as the lone front man all game and his tenacious manner did enough to allow the ball to fall into the path of Josh Bruford who found himself one on one with Fletche. Bruford finished calmly into the bottom corner to send his teammates into rapture!.

Despite a Butlins’ response, Dunster held firm for the Greens’ fourth win in a row against their local rivals. Dunster’s Man of the Match: Scott Kivell.
