MINEHEAD, playing their second friendly in two days, drew 1-1 at home with an experienced North Molton side on Friday, July 12.

Fielding a completely different started XI, Minehead faced the strongest pre-season line-up to date, but manager Craig Carr wanted to get games into everyone's legs and played another experimental side. He would have been pleased with his team’s display.

The Stags from North Molton edged ahead when last season's top scorer Josh Stoneman ran on to a through ball and the home defence playing high and slotted home past Jack Harding.

Nine minutes into the second half the referee adjudged that Joe Wilkinson was fouled on the very edge of the box and he stepped up to slam the penalty home himself to level the scores.

The Blues pressed hard for a winner and went very close, hitting the woodwork twice in the closing minutes - but eventually had to settle for a draw.
