BISHOPS LYDEARD XI 1 MINEHEAD XI 1

BOTH sides put out young sides, with the hosts fielding the majority of last season’s U18 line up. Minehead manager Craig Carr fielded a strong number of teenagers along with a few new faces - and the performance was, like the tailend of last seasons’ performances, a very positive one.

A lively, fast paced and even first half saw The Blues take a deserved lead five minutes before the break when Sam Jackson wrong footed the keeper following a perfectly headed flick-on from Guy Burns at the near post.

Carr rotated his players well, with all sixteen getting good game time, with none of them looking out of place against strong opposition.

As the second half drew on, Lydeard forced their way back into the game, and after Jack Harding had made some impressive saves, he was beaten late in the game to leave the scores level at 1-1 which was a good reflection of the play.
