MINEHEAD drew 2-2 at home against Wessex Vixens in the Somerset Girls U12 Football League in what was always going to be one of their toughest games of the season.
Going into the game Wessex are one of the favourites to win the league with only one loss so far this season.
After winning their last two games Minehead started confidently and soon began to create scoring opportunities. It wasn’t long before the hosts took one of their chances to make it 1-0.
With both teams playing some great football it was Wessex who struck next to level the scores at 1-1.
Minehead have shown this season that they never give up and once again scored to take the lead before Wessex equalised seconds before going in at half time 2-2.
A tense second half kept the spectators on the edge of their seats, with both teams fighting for the win. Minehead had plenty of chances but couldn’t quite find the back of the net.
A great save from the Minehead keeper ensured that when the final whistle went it was a 2-2 and Minehead could take away a well deserved point for their fantastic display of teamwork and continued commitment.
