A MUCH-CHANGED Wellington side went down to a 1-0 friendly defeat away to Somerset County League outfit Minehead last night (Wednesday).
There were no goals in the first half at Irnham Road with Josh Baker going closest to breaking the deadlock for Wellington as he fired over after 20 minutes.
Wellington started the second half brightly and young Minehead keeper Freddy Harvey-Larmar kept his side in the game with smart saves from Jordan Hayman and Baker (twice).
Both managers rang the changes and Wellington keeper Jake Viney did well to deny Joe Wilkinson before Minehead scored what proved to be the winner after 71 minutes. The visitors failed to clear their lines and Ollie Hall found space to shoot low past Viney.
