MINEHEAD Cricket club's three junior teams were all in action last weekend. 

The Under 11s played at Taunton St Andrews on Sunday and after batting first had made 264 in their 16 overs with some strong batting from Callum, Noah, Heath and Oliver in his first match. In reply their opponents made 290 for 3 wickets to take the victory. There were wickets for Jonah (2) and Oliver as Minehead showed a continued improvement in their bowling

Also on Sunday the Under 15s enjoyed a victory against Taunton Deane Dynamos. Taunton Deane batted first and made 132 for 9 in their 20 overs with good knocks by Norman 25 and Coad 32 while there were 2 wickets each for Noah James, Charlie Penny and Harry Swann.

In reply Minehead got off to a great start, thanks to the in form Oli Ahern (50 retired) and Sam Cobb 34 who each found the boundary regularly. Albert Vickery hit 22 with Harry 15 no as Noah hit the winning runs with just 4 balls to spare.

On Friday the Under 13s had a tough match against Taunton Diamonds. Taunton batted first and scored an imposing 121-5 in their 20 overs despite a better bowling and fielding performance from Minehead. In reply, despite a reasonable start, Minehead were restricted to 76- 9
