MINEHEAD will be looking to bounce back after their loss at home to Burnham United when they play away to lowly Keynsham Town Reserves in the first division of the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League on Saturday, April 26.

In fact Minehead have lost their last four league games and are down in tenth spot in the division, having been up with the leading sides earlier this season.

Saturday’s match is one of two still to be played by Minehead against Keysham who are only one place off the relegation zone and are in danger of being relegated.

Fixtures for Saturday, April 26: Ashcott v Saltford, Glastonbury v Imperial, Keynsham Town Reserves v MInehead, Middlezoy Rovers Reserves v Peasedown Miners Welfare, Stockwood Green v Congresbury, Wrington Redhill v Westfield.

Minehead have two more away games - against Ashcott (May 3) and Clutton (May 5) before they play their last match of the season at home to Keysham on Saturday, May 5.

Neighbours Watchet Town Reserves have completed their fixtures in the Premier Division and have been waiting on the outcome of Worle’s matches, the results of which will decide whether the seasiders will retain their status in the division.

Watchet, promoted as runners-up in the first division at the end of last season, have found the going tough this winter and have struggled to field a settled side because of injuries and players being unavailable. In fact they will have done remarkably well in the circumstances if they manage to remain in the division.

Meanwhile, Porlock have a match against Nether Stowey in the President’s Cup on Friday, April 25, in a new competition providing more football for teams in the West Country Drainage Services Taunton and District Saturday League. The game is being played at the Bridgwater College Accademy.
