WATCHET Town will be hoping for ’better luck’ in their away match against Stockwood Wanderers on Saturday (January 11) following the disappointment of losing 3-2 at home to Wells City Reserves in the Premier Division of the Uhlsport Somerset County Football League last weekend.

“It was massively disappointing to lose to Wells after going into stoppage time 2-1 up,” said Nick Sully, a member of Watchet’s management committee.

“I honestly thought we were going to get something out of the game. We got caught by two sucker punches.”

Watchet have already played Wanderers twice at home this season, beating them 1-0 in the Somerset Senior Cup but losing 4-1 in the league.

"I don’t think they have lost a game since they beat us,” added Sully whose side sit just above the relegation zone. Watchet are hoping experienced midfielder Brandon Walsh, will be available after being sidelined with a sprained ankle.

Meanwhile, Minehead will be looking to get back to winning ways when they play at home to Imperial in the first division (3p.m.).

Minehead dropped two crucial points in a goalless home draw against Wrington Redhill last weekend, despite playing some of their best football for some time. “We did everything but score,” said Minehead boss Craig Carr.
