OAKE Manor Golf Club held its first “Night Golf” competition on Saturday - probably the best evening of the winter so far. Sixty-four golfers teed off in the pitch black with a shot gun start. They played a pairs Better Ball Stableford Competition over 16 holes.
Each player had a glow ball which would stay illuminated for several hours and glow sticks were placed around the tee boxes, down each side of the fairway and around the greens so the players could navigate where they were going.
The players all enjoyed a meal and prize giving in the clubhouse after the night’s play.
The winners were Alex Pearson and Daniel Owen who scored 33 points, Mark Tydings and Nic Clayton came second with 32 points while Dave Rossillo and Jamie Biddiscombe were third, also with 32 points.
The evening was so successful that another Night Golf competition has been arranged for November.
