THE Ladies at Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club have had a few days when it wasn’t raining.
On February 15 a few ladies played a Florida Scramble won by Sarah Hill, Anne Oglesby and Ginnette Bowyer.
Greensomes competition, 29 February, results: 1, Gill Hurley and Jennifer James with 30pts; 2 Tricia Grinter and Ruth Ball with 28; 3 on count back, Ginnette Bowyer and Pat Lucas with 28.
On 7 March an Open Florida Scramble was played.
Results: 1, Mary Beakes (Oake), Karen Potter (Oake) and Jackie Pike (Taunton & Pickeridge) with 74; 2, Pat Rogers (Enmore), Kay Beaumont (Tiverton) and Rosemary Perry (Tiverton) with 71; 3 on count back, Jenny Elliott (Minehead), Liz Hale (Bristol & Clifton) and Paula Parkin (Minehead) with 71.
The AGM was held on 14 March. Outgoing captain Sarah Hill read her report of her year, and the treasurer read her report and said the finances were in good shape.
The broach for the best scores in the two Spring meetings and two Autumn meetings was presented to Tricia Grinter, while runner up was Ros Chidgey.
The prize for the most improved player was Jennifer James.
Sarah then presented the captain’s badge to Ginnette Bowyer, the incoming captain.
