MINEHEAD and West Somerset Golf Club men played for the prestigious Brown Cup on Sunday. The first major competition of 2025 this medal competition attracted a large entry of 61 members.

With reasonable conditions prevailing, there was some excellent scoring with the lower handicap players featuring prominently. Dave Hillier who plays off a handicap of 6 with a nett 68, including three birdies, took the honours. In second place on count back was Ellis Taylor (8) nett 69 and in third position, Neil Megarry (6) nett 69.

Meanwhile the club is delighted to be able to announce a sponsorship agreement with Jewson South West who will be become the club’s new Platinum Partnership.

This is an exciting new chapter in both organisations' commitment to excellence and community development.

As Platinum Sponsor, Jewson South West will play an integral role in supporting the club’s growth and future development, sponsoring the 1st and 18th holes, the club scorecards and hosting an Annual Golf Day for customers in July.
