LAST Saturday Minehead Ladies hosted Exeter 4s in a challenging and well-contested match.

The first half saw a sleepy Minehead dominated by the visitors in all areas of the pitch.

A rare break through the midfield press earned Minehead a short corner which was just pushed wide of the target.

Exeter retaliated with a corner of their own which crept inside the post making the half time score 1-0.

After a good team talk at half time a re-energised and motivated Minehead took to the pitch with fire in their bellies.

Minehead pressed hard and with lots of sideline encouragement from Coach Andrew, the hosts found some form.

A baseline run from Cape found Hayes in the D and the rebound fell kindly for D. Lancaster to pick her spot behind the Exeter keeper.

A last ditch effort from Exeter saw Minehead’s defence scrambled with keeper Weetch making some diving saves to keep the score 1-1 at the final whistle.
