BROMPTON Regis based Jeremy Scott shares his thoughts on the 2024-25 season so far.

“We are beginning to see the light at the end of a long and wet winter; it has not been an easy season thus far. The weather has been unhelpful, and we have many young horses whose future lies over fences in a couple of years.

“We have tested various things and made a few minor adjustments, and hopefully, the results are starting to show. Captain Boudet commenced his chasing career in fine fashion at Hereford under a positive ride from David Noonan. Unfortunately, he struggled with the ground when attempting to follow up with another success at Wincanton.

“We did leave the course with a winner, however, courtesy of Champagne Chic, who won what appeared on paper to be a competitive novice hurdle. He will hopefully provide his owners, The BM Partnership, with some more enjoyment in the coming seasons.

“Aiden Kennedy bought him inexpensively from Tattersalls Ireland in July for a mere £1,000 and did a lot with him last season. He only joined us in the autumn and pleasantly surprised us with the win!

Scott went on: “Joe Cotton has proven to be a consistent horse, finishing second in his last four races, including both ends of January as the runner-up. Hopefully, he will secure a victory in the not too distant future.

“Drash On Ruby is another consistent mare, having been placed in almost every race and unfortunately encountering well-handicapped horses. Bampton Star ran an excellent race on his seasonal debut at Exeter New Year's meeting under Chad Bament, finishing third.

“Golden Ace has begun to return to form, finishing third at Cheltenham on New Year's Day. Diesel Line has had to adapt to, but ran well to finish second at Taunton.

“We have a couple of exciting horses available for sale as a whole or as a share. They are at different stages of their training and budgets. The 4 year old Getaway is about to have a holiday and will return to work in the Spring having been broken in. We have a 5 year old by Nathaniel who is ready for a run either over hurdles or in a bumper, and is just waiting on a name and some owners and a 5 year old by Frontieresman who should be ready for a bumper run this coming Spring.
