OAKE Manor Golf Club has hosted the inaugural Terence Ball Memorial Competition. Forty-six pairs took part in the two-day 36-hole event which comprised a pairs better ball medal competition on the Saturday followed by a better ball pairs Stableford on the Sunday.
Sponsors for the competition included Total Triumph, Matt Durbin Associates, SWCE South West, JAB Electical, Carly Press, The Pantry House and Terence Ball Kitchens.
On Saturday, the first three pairs in the better ball medal competition all scored nett 61. On count back Richard Goodman and Simon Malloy came first, Chris Hume and Matthew Gardner were second while Kieran Wyatt and Jamie Biddiscombe were third.
In the Sunday better ball Stableford round John Byrne and Shane Bordier were runaway winners with an incredible 49 points, Dave Hill and Chris Flack were second with 46 points while James Dawson and Kevin Gratton were third with 45 points.
John Byrne and Shane Bordier were the trophy winners combining their 49 points on Sunday with a nett 64 on Saturday.
On Monday the Seniors hosted the Ladies to play a Mixed Greensomes Competition for the Jubilee Trophy. The winners were Angus Mather and Ros Shepherd, scoring 45 points.
