ON A cold Sunday morning Minehead Barbarians RFC Under 10s travelled along the A39 to play against their Bridgwater and Albion counterparts on a muddy pitch - and they came away with a fine rugby victory following a stylish display .
The Barbarians Under 10s played as a team carrying on with some exciting rugby. Their rucking and ripping the ball led to some good quality ball and some great passing and support play which in turn led to several team tries.
In defence the visitors’ tackling was ferocious with nobody taking a step back although Bridgwater did manage to score a couple of well worked tries.
However, Minehead Under 10s’ complete team work proved too much for Bridgwater and the visitors came out the winners.
Unfortunately Bridgwater didn't want to play a second game which was very disappointing for both the players and parents.
The team coach said afterwards: “The Under 10s are a pleasure to coach and watch; every game they play their complete team work is very special.”
The Gladiator of the Day was awarded to Rupert Barrass while the Barbarian of the Day was won by Martha Ford.
