WITH the Premier Division title in the Watchet and District Skittles League decided, focus shifted to the battle to avoid the drop into Division A.

Mati Snell scored 126 in Phoenix Knights’ 29 pin home win over Castaways whose Nick Lane missed out on the highest away score by six pins, hitting 139. This win sees Knights move out of the bottom two, curtesy of Bottoms Up losing their away match against Rebels by 10 pins, James Parrish hitting 120 for the hosts with Nathan Whatley scoring 113 for the visitors.

Archie Walsh hit a superb 133 for Q C Guys in the 84 pin defeat of Three Ferrets, Simon Norman and Martyn Baker hitting 103 apiece and champions Bell All Stars had Adam Taplin scoring 108 in the five-pin away win over Jack whose Steve Bosley scored 109.

Performance of the week belongs to Chris Weetch who matched the highest away score for the Premier League, scoring 145 for White Horse Stallions as they went down by 12 pins in their away match with Allsorts, whose Brian Bishop hit 124.

Barn Owls’ Tom Andrews with 112 remain leaders of Division A after defeating Railway Steamers by 72 pins, Cam Munro top for the Steamers with 88 and 105 apiece from Stuart Mitcham and Steve Allen led Has Beens to a comfortable 58 pin home win over Outsiders whose Terry Hayes hit 91. Has Beens and Railway Steamers have games in hand over the leaders.

Dungbeetles’ Gary Kendall hit 115 in their battle to avoid the drop as they defeated Combwich Otters at home by 53 pins, Lee Jones scoring 100 for the guests. Highest Away Score. Shane Yaw 135 Railway Steamers

Both leading teams won their respective matches in Division B this week with Ian Whitehead scoring 97 for Wyndham Pinheads as they overcame Quantock Stags by 22 pins, Roger Polsom hitting 101 for the Stags. A fine score of 112 from Dizzy’s Boys Jamie Williams helped them to a 30 pin away win against Haddon Hillbillies for whom Ian Rottenbury topped their scoring with 95.
