FILM fans will be able to see a foreign movie, ‘My Favourite Cake’, screened at the Minehead Regal on Tuesday (November 5).
The ‘quietly subversive’ film angered Iranian authorities on its release earlier this year, telling the story of 70-year-old Mahin, who lives a lonely life in Tehran after losing her husband and daughter.
One day, she joins friends for afternoon tea and finds a new spark in her heart, meeting somebody who makes her feel alive again, and the evening brings unpredictable surprises and memories.
Tickets for the 7.30 pm subtitled screening cost £6 with concessions for Regal Film Society members, students, and those on Jobseeker’s allowance, and can be booked in advance online or via the Regal box office.
