VOLUNTEERS have helped to install new signposts along the Exmoor section of the South West Coast Path as the national park authority prepares for it to become part of the King Charles III England Coast Path.
The park authority has been supporting Natural England with improvements to sections of the 35-mile stretch from Minehead to North Devon.
It aims to help walkers at popular Exmoor spots such as Hurlstone Point, near Porlock, North Hill, Minehead, and Glenthorne, near Lynton, enjoy revived ancient paths and more scenic views.
The national designation of the path will offer new public access to link up and improve existing Exmoor routes, enabling people to better experience and value the benefits of the landscape.
Details of six sections where the route is to be enhanced will be announced shortly.
A spokesperson for the authority said: “Thank you to all our amazing volunteers who have helped us with this.”
