A RAG rug workshop is being held in Minehead next week by textile artist Sally Light to give residents a taster of the techniques involved.
It follows sessions Ms Light ran for Minehead’s MIND art group earlier this year.
Ms Light said: “There was such a positive response when I put on a display of their work in Minehead Library, so I thought it would be nice to offer a workshop in town.
“The workshop will be a taster of techniques and participants will use their new skills to fashion fabulous floral brooches which would look great worn on the lapel of a jacket or coat.”
Rag rug is a traditional ‘make-do-and-mend craft’ using waste fabrics or worn garments and Ms Light will provide the materials and tools needed for the workshop, which takes place at 10 am in Threads on Wednesday (September 11).
Places can be booked via 01643 708372.
