MINEHEAD’S Royal National Lifeboat Institution has issued an urgent appeal for volunteers to help in the boathouse shop.

The charity particularly wants to hear from anybody who is able to cover in the shop on Sunday afternoons.

A spokesperson said: “The shop is heading toward its busy season, and needs more help to be able to open throughout the week.

“If you have a few hours to spare and would like to meet new people, as well as making a real difference to our fund-raising efforts, please get in touch.

“Pop down to the shop most days between 10 am and 4 pm, or drop us a message on our Facebook page, or call the station on 01643 704621.”
