WILLITON Bowls Club’s Andy Fish, Rich Waterman and Phil Ash played in the quarter-finals of the national triples against a team from street.

They took a commanding lead and played very well to see the game out to make it to the semi final, the first time any of them have been that far - so a massive congratulations.

On July 2 the men played in the Jack Stevens against local rivals Watchet, winning 2 of the 4 rinks and by just 1 shot overall.

The following day saw Williton B travel to Ilminster B in the West Somerset League but unfortunately lost 10-2.

The A team hosted Taunton Deane C winning comfortably 69-25 and collecting 12 points.

Monday, July 8, Williton Ladies won on one rink and lost on one rink in the Evelyn Yandel, while the men played the Jack Stevens against Minehead, winning 3 of the 4 rinks and by 13 overall.

Huge congratulations go to Elaine Amery and Somerset who won the Johns Trophy at the weekend and to Callum Harrod who represented Somerset in the Middleton Cup but, unfortunately, after only 8 ends before rain stopped play with Somerset falling short by 4 shots.
