WATCHET Town found life much more difficult than their opening match when they visited Wells City Reserves on Tuesday night and were soundly beaten by 3 goals to nil in the Premier Division of the Uhlsport Somerset County League.
After forcing a corner in the first few minutes the Red & Blacks played second fiddle to their young hosts for the majority of the game as they struggled to cope with their pace and movement off the ball..
Charley Clausen made a fine save to keep the scores level before a close range header gave him no chance and it was no more than Wells deserved when they made it 2-0 which is how it stayed until half-time.
The visitors looked a more solid unit after the break without seriously threatening the Wells goal where the keeper did not have an on-target shot to save throughout.
Another Clausen save surpassed his earlier effort, but he was powerless to prevent the home side adding a third goal with 15 minutes remaining.
