ROADWATER Seconds entertained Stoke St Mary Seconds in Division Four of the West Somerset Cricket League, at the end of which it was the hosts who ran out winners by four wickets.
After being asked to bat first the visitors struggled against the Roadwater bowlers. Sam Chinn made an early breakthrough which Luke Gould followed up taking a brace of wickets. Petri Cole then claimed two wickets before Ian Tier joined joined Tom Sweet and between them they settled the innings and built a partnership.
Sweet made 43 off 50 balls with six fours and one six while Tier went onto hit 26 off 32 with six fours, but soon after these two departed Stoke St Mary were all out for 134 in 32,4 overs.
Gould was the pick of the bowlers with three for 43, while Andrew Whitely, Cole and Archie Kennett all took two each.
When Roadwater batted they lost Ashley Burr cheaply before Mark Bishop with 18 and Lee Johnson-Smith who hit 17 started to move the score on.
Petri Cole then came in and hit an unbeaten 53 at a run a ball with nine fours along with Chinn who' was 16 not out to see the hosts to 135 for six in the 25th over.
