MINEHEAD Seconds travelled away on Saturday to play Taunton Deane in Division Three of the Somerset Cricket League where, after choosing to bat first, the hosts were all out for 111 in 30.4 overs.
Dan Cooper, the Deane skipper, was the most successful batter, scoring 27 runs off 20 balls with three fours and a six.
The pick of the bowlers for the visitors was Jithin Rajan who ended with the impressive figures of four wickets for 22 runs from his eight overs, while Lewis Goodrum ended with two for 17.
When Minehead replied they were given a strong start thanks to the openers Andrew Stevens who made 31 off 41 balls and Jonah Hopkins who hit a rapid 30 off 14 balls with seven fours before departing.
Stevens was then joined by Josh Hurley who, after losing the opener, was joined by James Griffiths. The third wicket pair remained at the crease to see Minehead home to 115 without further loss in 16.2 overs.
Hurley remained unbeaten on 41 at better than a run a ball with nine fours while Griffiths ended six not out.
Minehead are fifth in the table while the Deane are down in ninth spot.
