ZAK Rexworthy was the star of Stogumber's crushing 191-run victory over Minehead 3rd XI in Division Three of the West Somerset Cricket League.
Rexworthy hammered 96 not out in Stogumber's 286-3 in their 40 overs and then snapped up 8-48 as Minehead were dismissed for 95 in 15 overs.
Peter Horton also scored 89 for Stogumber while opener Elias Hayes made 32 as his side opened up a 28-point lead at the top of the table.
Bishops Hull are still lying second despite losing by nine runs in a close match at home to Cutcombe. The Taunton side seemed to have the advantage after bowling out Cutcombe for 133 with Mark Matravers (68) being the only batter to offer any resistance against the bowling of Mark Hallas, Jacob Lang, Morgan Chanter and Paul Holman who all took two wickets.
But after a promising start, Bishops Hull collapsed with their last four batters failing to trouble the scorers with Morgan Chanter left stranded on 24 not out. Opener Ross Northover also scored 31 and Jack Hiett 24. Harry Lacey took 3-9.
Wiveliscombe lost for the third time this season, going down by 59 runs to Cannington whose 143-8 did not appear enough. However Wiveliscombe, who won the toss and decided to field, were bowled out for 84 in 35-3 overs.
Sampford Arundel piled up 251-2 in beating Fitzhead by 162 runs - a result which leaves Fitzhead 63 points adrift at the bottom of the table.
Fourth division leaders Hemyock gained the fastest win of the day. They beat Stoke St Mary by ten wickets after bowling out the visitors for a dire 49. Not one Stoke batter managed double figures with James Marsh being their top scorer with seven. Yogarajah Pirapthan took 3-8 and Louis Allan 2-7.
It was a good day for Roadwater whose second string won by five wickets away to Buckland St Mary and Bishopswood who scored 199-9 in their 40 overs with Ian Every knocking 52 and Lewis Rich 31. Andrew Whitley finished with figures of 3-40 and Caleb Laney 2-20.
Roadwater were steered to victory by opener Mark Bishop who was still there at the close with 81 not out. Luke Gould and Mark Bolland both scored 26.
Ashbrittle chalked up an 83-run success away to Over Stowey who were dismissed for 112 with Oli Washer (32) and Carl Woodley (29) top scoring for the home side. Boris Priscott took 5-17.
Priscott also top scorer for Ashbrittle, making 48, as his side won comfortably, with opener Rob Popplestone scoring 38 before being run out.
Brompton Ralph won their first match of the season, beating East Huntspill away by three wickets.
