Weston Mendip U16G 1-11 Minehead U16G

MINEHEAD FC U16s were on the road once again, visiting Weston Mendip this time around.

The away team started brightly and created multiple chances but didn’t make a breakthrough right away.

When the first goal did arrive, three more followed shortly after. Erin led the line brilliantly and notched a hat-trick to make the difference, including an unbelievable effort from 25 yards out.

Evie made it 5-0 after a perfectly timed run before the hosts got one back before the break.

Minehead regrouped and ensured that this Mendip momentum was thwarted early on into the second half. Erin, not content with her first half spree, added a further two goals after great combination play from Ruby, Lilly and Jaz, a trio who were dominating the midfield area.

Mabel bagged her eighth of the season and then at 8-1, the positions were rotated, but the goals kept coming.

Evie completed her brace before Ruby made it 10 and then Jaz put the icing on the cake with a 30-yard free kick.

The final whistle sounded soon after, making it three wins from three on the road for Minehead with 33 goals scored in the process. Next up is a trip to Pen Mill.
