PORLOCK Reserves gained a 9-2 away win over Bridgwater Wolves Colts in Division Two of the Taunton Saturday League to gain revenge for a big defeat by their opponents earlier this season.
Porlock came out of the blocks with lightning speed and took the lead within two minutes when Oliver Heathfield rounded off a good move by finding the bottom left hand corner.
Porlock doubled their lead when Jari High rolled the ball through for Robbie Davies to open his account. Davies then put Danny Lynam through to make it 3-0 inside 10 minutes. Wolves hit back when a deflected free kick looped over ‘keeper Connor Paterson’s head.
This didn’t deter the visitors and shortly after Davies doubled his goal tally when he rifled the ball past the keeper for 4-1. With 15 minutes of the first half remaining Ryan Cape was introduced and soon afterwards he set up Davies who found the back of the net to complete a first half hat-trick.
Wolves to their credit kept fighting and from a corner the ball was cleared to the edge of the box where the awaiting midfielder struck a wonderful shot, beating ‘keeper Paterson as the half ended 5-2 to Porlock.
The second half started the same as the first with High once again providing a beautifully crossed ball from a free kick where Harry Kivell was awaiting and headed past the replacement keeper. Shortly after Cape scored with a lovely finish making it 7-2.
With 40 minutes remaining Porlock manager James Griffiths introduced Liam Shopland, Todd Willis and Jack Evans. The trio fitted in well and five minutes later Davies scored again, making the score 8-2, after which he left the field with four goals to his credit.
With the clock ticking down an attacking free kick was smartly taken which resulted in Jack Evans driving the ball home.
