THE second half of February has seen two of competitions in the Ladies Section at Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club.
Firstly, a Florida Scramble competition played in teams of three. All team members drove from the tee then choosing the best drive, the other two team members played their next shot from there and so on. On reaching the green all players could putt. 1st was Pat Lucas, Nancy Marshall and Paula Parkin with 72 points, on countback, from Catharine Binding, Sue Garwood and Sarah Hill, also on 72 points. This means Pat’s team scored better on the 2nd 9 holes.
Last week saw a Greensomes competition played. Teams of two Tee off choosing the best drive, then alternating shots after that. Hazel Binding and Carolyn Cape were victorious with an impressive 39 points followed by Karen Davies and Jenny Elliott with 35.
This coming week’s competition is currently an individual Stableford which will count towards handicap.
