MINEHEAD are involved in a top of the table clash away to Congresbury in the first division of the Uhlsport Somerset Football League on Saturday, November 9.

The sides have lost only two matches between them. Congresbury are top, having dropped only five points while Minehead are in fourth place, four points adrift of their rivals with two games in hand.

“We will be fielding a strong side,” said Minehead boss Craig Carr who added: “I don’t know much about them. But obviously they’re a good side otherwise they would not be top. We have to go there and compete and give it our best shot.”

Minehead are hoping ex-Taunton Town defender George Painter will be fit after struggling with injury this season.

Meanwhile, Watchet Town will be chasing their first double of the season when they play away to Timsbury in the Premier Division. Unfortunately, top scorer Billy Jones, who scored the two goals in the 2-1 home win over Timsbury earlier this season, is unavailable.

Watchet suffered a 4-1 home defeat by Stockwood Wanderers last weekend, and Nick Sully, a member of the club’s management committee, admitted: “It was a disappointing defeat. We have injuries to key players and we have a few out for this weekend, too.”
