MINEHEAD Titans Under 11s followed up their win on the road against Spaxton with a resounding 8-0 victory at home against Staplegrove.

Titans got off to a blistering start, scoring three goals in five minutes! The first came from a corner by Eli towards the six yard box which Heath buried into the back of the net. George, who was involved all over the pitch, then took a key role in the second goal, passing the ball to Joshua P who shrugged off his marker and fired his shot past the keeper.

The third goal came from a corner by Reuben N, which found Heath on the edge whose effort was smartly saved by the keeper, only for Eli to instinctively follow up and smash the ball in from close range. Soon after it was 4-0 when Reuben N collected the ball on the edge of the area, and fired a stunning strike into the bottom left-hand corner of the goal 4-0.

Titans concerted pressure was rewarded with a fifth goal from Joshua P who curled an exquisite shot from outside the area into the bottom righthand corner. With Staplegrove 5-0 down, they were permitted to bring on an extra player,, making it 9 v 10 from this stage onwards.

This made little difference to the Titans and after a charismatic run by Jonah he won a corner which Heath attacking the ball at the near post, thundered into the back of the net, making it 6-0 at halftime. Soon after the break Jonah delivered a decisive, penetrating cross to Connor who linked with Heath who poked the ball past the keeper, to chalk up his hat trick and make it 7-0.

The final goal came from another Titans corner which found Connor who turned and shot, beating the ‘keeper, making it 8-0.
