COMPETITION day for Minehead and West Somerset Golf Club’s ladies section saw the sun out and not much wind.

The format was unusual with players allowed to take their driver as the only wood in their bag. Also on the 9 easier holes they played off the red tees (traditionally Ladies) and the 9 harder holes off the blue tees (traditionally juniors).

The winner was Ginnette Bowyer with an impressive score of 47 points and second came Ingrid Swimburn with 45 points. The previous week no competition was played due to persistent wintry showers. They all met up for a sociable cup of coffee in the clubhouse instead.
