WITH  new National Hunt Racing season about to get underway in earnest Johnson White at Sandhill Racing Stables has shared his thoughts with Free Press readers. He says: .

Over the next few weeks all of the horses will be back in so there is a lot to look forward to.. We bring the horses in now with a view to having them ready to run by middle of October, depending of course on the ground and weather.

We have got a lot of new Point to Point horses who will either run in bumpers or novice hurdles depending on how their work goes in the autumn.

Our strongest divisions this winter will be novice hurdles or novice chasing. Some of the new ones who might be worth looking out for are Disguise Limit who was bought in the spring and had a very good rating for his point to point victory in Ireland and is a very nice horse .

Oh My Johnny would have won his point to Point but fell at the last and he also has a very good rating for that. Limerick Star has a similar profile and Kingston Gent won an English Point to point over two and a half miles.

All of these have been bought with enormous potential. They are all looking well and doing what they are supposed to be doing, and the dream is very much alive.

When we are up and running we will have about 75 horses in the yard and we look to have a lot of nice young horses coming through which is always very exciting.

Horses who are likely to go novice hurdling this year are French Ship, who won a bumper at Haydock in May, Tom Doniphon won a bumper at Fontwell and has schooled very well.

Bobbys Nelson, Don’t Wind Me Up and Saint Anapolino have all been placed in bumpers and all have schooled well so we are very excited about them. When we step up their work in September we get a better idea of which horses are doing what they were doing last year and hopefully better.

We are also very excited about our novice chasers where Lowrys Bar who had a phenomenal season last year and will go over fences, Balee will go chasing, and Imperial Saint will be another one to look out for.

We  had a good season last year when we brought along some youngsters who should go on and do some nice things this year all being well.

Hopefully we will exceed the number of winners last year and have some horses racing in better quality races all being well. Lowrys Bar with Johnson White.
