MINEHEAD Barbarians Under 10s travelled to Weston super Mare for their first game of the new rugby season.

Arriving at 10 for a 10 30 kick off the players were warmed up and got ready for the game only to be told Weston would not be ready until 11 15. This was slightly frustrating as the visitors waited for Weston to start which did not help with their attention or mind set

With the Under 10s now playing scrums, rucks ,and mauls, it took a little while to adapt which in turn allowed Weston to score a well worked try.

Minehead started the second half playing much better rugby, passing before contact and placing the ball well if taken to ground . There was some great rucking and passing the ball wide which led to the visitors scoring a great try. However, unfortunately the home side managed to score another try just before the full time whistle.

A second small game proved better for the Minehead Under 10s with them showing great support play. The coaches are positive that this team will get better and better.

The Barbarian of the week was Sam Blackmore, while the Gladiator of the week was William Sellick.
