PORLOCK made a winning start to their season in the Premier Division of the Taunton Saturday League when they beat Bridgwater Wolves 5-1 at home.

Robins manager Jay Horne was hoping for much of the same as Wednesday night in the cup and he was not disappointed.

Porlock started very strongly pressing high, and not allowing Wolves to play their football. It wasn’t long before Porlock found the back net with a lovely goal from young Jari High and the home side were cruising.

Chris Barrett managed to find the back of the net with his trademark finish using his head shortly afterwards and then Chris James had a ‘goal’ disallowed as Porlock went into halftime 2-0 up.

The second half kicked off just as the first one had with Porlock starting strongly and playing nice football which produced a lovely goal from front man Harry Scatchard from some distance.

Porlock were dominating things and when Chris Barrett found the back of the net again for his second goal shortly after Jari High also scored again it was 5-0 to the hosts.

However, with the last kick of the game the visitors scored to make the final score Porlock First XI 5 Bridgwater Wolves 1.
