ROADWATER are looking to finish in third spot in Division Four of the West Somerset Cricket League after they beat Over Stowey by 24 runs at home in their latest match.

Batting first, Roadwater scored 210. in their 40 overs with opener Mark Bishop hitting 84, which included 11 fours and two sixes. Other main scorers were Steve Cornish (35), Ashley Burr (26) and Luke Gould (21 ).

Fletcher Hilton was Stowey’s outstanding bowler, taking 4-42 while Archie Peacock snapped up 2-24.

Stowey were all out for 186 with Oli Washer being their top batter with 68, while Tyler Coleman scored 24. Ashley Burr took 3-9, Andrew Whitley 3-38 and Sean Beaver 2-22.

In the only other match played in this division, Brompton Ralph were two-wicket winners at home to Stoke St Mary who, batting first, scored 180 for six in their allotted overs with Thomas Sweet hitting 59, Charlie Nation 47 and Ian Tier 27 not out. Darren Towells took 3-34.

Struggling with the bat early on, Brompton were rescued by lower order batters Paul China who knocked 49 not out and William Barrington who scored 35. Ben Moody also scored 35.

There were two wickets each for James Bridgers, Sweet and Tier.
