MINEHEAD Barbarians Under 13s hosted Bridgwater and got off to a flying start with Freddie Bishop scoring in the corner.
The hosts followed this up with two tries from Ed White, and another soon after by another from Ben Lake.
Minehead were passing the ball well and their defence was strong putting in some hard tackles, which led to them holding possession especially from the breakdowns.
Another score from Arthur Gell for Minehead saw them leading to a comfortable 7-0 lead at half time.
After the break Bridgwater held their own and scored twice in quick succession, taking the score to 7-2.
However the Barbarians responded well with another score making it a hat-trick for Fred Bishop to take it to 8-2.
Bridgwater still didn’t give up and played well breaking Minehead’s defence again for a third time in the second half.
However Jesse Bruce scored just before the final whistle, to make it 9-3 at the end.
This was a great effort from both teams, and some nice rugby played from both sides in an entertaining encounter.
Thank you to John Sweetland for refereeing.
Man of the match was Ed White and the Gladiator of the match was George Cockerill.
