MMINEHEAD RFC Under 13s took on Taunton at home for the second time this season.
Taunton took an early lead with a score in the corner, but Fred Bishop scored after a run from distance to level the game. Bishop scored his second to put the hosts into the lead.
With Minehead having most of the possession, they won a penalty in Taunton’s 22, and a off load to Harry Tucker put the hosts 3-1 in front at half time.
Taunton came out in the second half and soon scored to reduce the arrears. However, a neat move from Charlie Tucker off the back of a ruck made it 4-2.
With a strong squad of 24 Minehead stayed fresh, and soon Ed White scored in the top corner, to see the home side winning at 5-2. Taunton didn’t give up and managed to score one more before the final whistle, making the final score 5-3 to Minehead.
Having lost both previous games this season this victory meant a lot to all the boys. A great game and all the boys played excellent Taunton included. Man of the match was Billy Haller for a superb effort while Gladiator of the Match went to Max Atkins. Thanks to Dick Tucker for refereeing.
