WATCHET Smugglers Under 11s bounced back to winning form after losing to Ruishton and Staplegrove with a 6-0 away victory over Kingsdown Knights.
Before the game the consensus was that it was going to be a tough game. With the first eight minutes being fairly even it wasn't until Alfie Cody Boutcher broke into the penalty area only to be hooked from behind and brought down for the referee to award a penalty. Stepping up Cody calmly slotted home from the spot toput Watchet into the lead.
Cody Boutcher struck again on 13 minutes with the assist coming from Alfie Worth. Harry Snell made it 3-0 after a scramble in the penalty area and managed to tuck it neatly home from close by. Just before half time Danny Potter scored his first league goal with a long ball from Alfie Worth through the middle that allowed Potter to hang on the last shoulder of the defender, pull away and neatly slot home under the keeper to make it 4-0.
The second half saw Kingsdown come back at Watchet whose defence of Brodie Thomas, Jonah Clarke, Jacob McLoughlin and McCartney Hopwood remained strong and composed to deter the oncoming attack from the home team.
Jacob Snell added to the tally to make it 5-0 when the ball bounced around the area and finally fell to him on the edge of the box where he calmly struck home into the left side of the net. Rounding out the game on 58 minutes Leonie Lofts got her reward from a well worked corner and found herself in space in the area where she struck the ball onto the back post which bounced of and nestled into the netting on the opposite side.
