The format for the spring session of the squash league is yet to be finalised. However, next week sees the first round of the Knockout competitions. Wellington first team are at home against Merriott 1 and the second team are away against West Somerset at Minehead.
Even though the competition is played using a handicap system both teams will have great difficulty in progressing to the next round. There is a Plate competition so it is not the end of the world to lose a first round match. Going back a few years the Wellington Second team as it was then did win the Plate competition.
