VOLUNTEERS are still being sought to help with the Exmoor Steam Punk Society’s annual Porlock Shenanigans weekend of frivolity and festivities.
The Shenanigans takes place over the May Day bank holiday weekend of Saturday and Sunday, May 4 and 5.
On the Saturday, there will be traders, food vendors, a cocktail bar, a funfair, Nerf gun range, and curious house of stories in The Skullduggery Market based at Porlock’s Sparkhayes campsite.
Throughout the village will be live music from Chloe Marie Aston on her bicycle piano, Follow the Dolphin, and Jon Pattison.
There will also be free steam bus rides, tea duelling – a contest involving slowly dunking biscuits in a cup of brew – plus, teapot racing and a treasure hunt ‘with a difference’.
During the Saturday evening a ticketed live music event will be held in the village hall with Duke Box compèring and international acts Madam Misfit and Alice Strange performing, supported by a new and exciting group The Lady Garden Ensemble.
The concert is charging £10 per ticket via Porlock Visitor Centre, Home and Hardware, or through the website, and there will be a bar.
On the Sunday, Porlock Shenanigans continues at Sparkhayes campsite with traders, vendors, and the fair there again.
The house of stories and Nerf range will also continue and there will be the additional acts of Madam Misfit, B.A.P.S, and Alice Strange performing an exclusive mini set, followed by a meet ’n’ greet.
Shenanigans organiser Alex Gardner said: “We are very grateful to our sponsors Sparkhayes Campsite, Miles Tea and Coffee, and Bossington Luxury Hotel and Spa.”
Anybody who is interested in helping as a volunteer during the weekend should contact the organisers through the society’s Facebook page.
