MINEHEAD 2nd XI went down to a thrilling one-wicket away loss to their Wellington counterparts who maintained their title bid in Division Three of the Somerset Cricket League.
It means Wellington now have a 57-point lead over closest rivals Middlezoy, with South Petherton a further 31 points back in third spot.
Needing 201 to win, Wellington sneaked over the line with veteran Rob Moysey scoring the most important six runs of the day for Wellington, after the home side lost their ninth wicket on 195 - still six runs short of victory.
Charlie Burrough top scored for Wellington with 52, while James Brackenbury scored 28, Alex Derbidge 35 and Dan Binding 25. Lewis Goodrum took 3-15, Jack White 2-33 and Ananthapmanabhan Rajan 2-38.
Earlier Minehead had scored 200 in their 40 overs with Oli Ahern hitting 51, Andrew Stevens 46 and Greg Howard 39. The opening stand between Stevens and Howard was worth 101. Neil Hendy took 2-12, Rob Moysey 2-30 and Dan Binding 2-18.
In the only other match played in the division, North Perrott gained a 11-run away victory over Street.
The visitors scored 231 in their allotted overs with Milo Mounde scoring 46 and Jack Stephens 44. Street were bowled out for 120 with Nathan Tribe taking 3-45.
