MINEHEAD Barbarians RFC Under 10s returned to competitive rugby for the first time since November when they hosted their counterparts from South Molton - and spectators were able to enjoy a splendid game between the teams.
Having not played any games for almost two months, the Minehead team played some exciting rugby against a well coached side who's strength was their rucking which was the only difference between the teams.
Minehead Under 10s carried on doing what they do best -passing, some ferocious tackling and above all support play which in turn helped them to score three well worked tries. In reply, however, South Molton with their own style of play managed to score two tries.
A shorter second game was still strongly contested, but the Minehead Under 10s didn't take a step back and again team work from them allowed the home side to score four more tries. South Molton were equally competitive and didn’t give up and managed to score two tries.Great team play made it difficult for the coaches to make awards for the day but after much deliberation the awards were: Gladiator of the Day Jayden Sparks, Barbarian of the Day Toby Blackshaw.
