WIVELISCOMBE 2nd XV travelled to Weston super Mare to play their 12th league fixture of the season against a Hornets’ fourth team lying at the foot of Counties Four Somerset South and came away 24-17 winners.
Wivey are in second position, nine points behind top team Martock. but have two games in hand. Wiveliscombe have scored 578 points so far this season and conceded just 75.
Number eight forward Isaac Hines led the way for Wivey at Weston with two tries. Flanker Harry Clements and fly half Cameron Palk crossed for one try each with Palk and full back Tom Caughey adding one conversion each.
The title race is between Wiveliscombe and Martock with the sides set to meet each other at the Rec on Saturday, March 22, with the winners likely to become champions.
